About Hunter Finance
For more than a decade, we’ve been working as independent lenders providing property development finance on over 500 residential projects throughout the South East of England for both experienced and first time developers. We pride ourselves on offering a personal, bespoke service with minimal bureaucracy.
Our aim is to provide a simple and fast approach to lending, cutting through the red tape of main stream funders.
Based in Uckfield, East Sussex, we lend to developers all over the South East of England including Surrey, Sussex, Kent, London, Hampshire, Berkshire, Norfolk, Oxfordshire and beyond.
Where we operate
Hunter Finance are based in Uckfield, East Sussex and we finance property development projects across South East England and London. We prefer to lend to projects closer to us because we believe having a deeper understanding of the local market gives us a better prediction of GDV and enables us to support our property developers better.

Bill Hunter
Leading Director
Bill Hunter founded Hunter Finance in 2010, on the premise that there was a very obvious gap in the market, where legitimate, viable business proposals from multiple property developers and builders were being rejected by banks.
Bill found success with his computer networks company, which placed a relentless focus on customer satisfaction. In 2008, Bill sold the company to a billion-pound corporation for an eight-figure sum, which allowed him to place part of his own fortune into funding Hunter Finance.
This unique situation allowed Bill to lend his own wealth to developers throughout the South East.
By lending his own money, it has made it quicker and easier for our developers to arrange loans for properties. This unique approach has always been the main factor behind the success of Hunter Finance. Since 2010 Hunter has financed hundreds of development.
James Bougon
Leading Director
James graduated from Southampton and joined the investment team at Hunter Finance in 2013. His employment became a crucial cog in Hunter Finance’s continued success in the upcoming years.
Now as the companies Lending Director, James is the point of contact for all upcoming and live developments, supporting clients through the Hunter Finance lending process from initial enquiry to project completion.
James enabled Hunter Finance to continue to grow its business while remaining true to the core ethos of the company, which is excellent customer satisfaction and transparency.
Why are Hunter Finance different?
